TERRE HAUTE — The Vigo County Public Library has joined the growing list of agencies and organizations preparing for a possible H1N1 pandemic.
On Monday, the library board planned to discuss issues related to a possible temporary closure if a pandemic occurred.
As director, Dowell can close the library if county health officials deem it important to prevent the spread of pandemic influenza.
Many have said one good thing about the H1N1 outbreak in Canada’s aboriginal communities is that it has brought attention to the lack of basic needs they face. But, it’s doubtful anything will actually be done about improving living conditions in reserves across Canada.

The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases released a new report today about the H1N1 vaccine and children. The upshot of the report, according to NIAID Director Anthony Fauci, is that children 10-17 years old probably will need just one swine flu/H1N1 vaccine shot. Younger children may require two shots, probably three weeks apart.
